Draconids Meteor Shower


Draconids Meteor Shower produces 10 meteors per hours when it reaches its peak and is considered as a minor meteor. This shower is caused by particles of 21P Giacobini-Zinner Comet that was discovered during the year 1900. Draconids Meteor Shower usually happens between 6th of October to 10th of October every year. This year it is said to reach its peak on 8th of October night.

Orionids Meteor Shower


Orionids Meteor Shower generally happens between 2nd of October to 7th of November every year. Approximately 20 meteors are caused by Orionids Meteor Shower when it is at its peak. This year, Orionids Meteor Shower is expected to happen on 21st October night to 22nd October morning. The leftover dust grains of Comet Halley which was discovered ages back acts as the showers of Orionids Meteor.

Taurids Meteor Shower


Taurids Meteor Shower that causes approximately 5 to 10 meteors per hour during its peak is a minor meteor. It is nothing but the dust particles left over by Asteroid 2004 TG10 discovered in the year 1865. This year it is expected to reach its peak on the night of 17th November and morning of 18th November. Usually, Taurids Meteor Shower is caused by 7th of September to 10th of December every year.

Leonids Meteor Shower


Leonids Meteor Shower produces around 15 meteors per hours when it is at its peak and is considered as an average shower. It reaches a cyclonic peak once every 33 years and is caused because of the left over grains of Comet Tempel-Tuttle discovered during the year 1865. While the usual period during which this shower happens between 6th November and 30th November of every year, this year it reaches its peak between 17th November night and 18th November morning.

Geminids Meteor Shower


Geminids Meteor Shower which is considered as the King of Meteors produces around 120 plus meteors per hour in a colorful manner when it is at its peak. The debris of Asteroid 3200 Phaethon causes Geminids Meteor Shower and happens around 7th December to 17th December every year. This Asteroid that was discovered in the year 1982 is expected to happen on the 13th December night and 14th December morning this year.

Ursids Meteor Shower


Ursids Meteor Shower produced by the leftovers of comet Tuttle that was discovered in the year 1790 is considered as a minor Meteor. It causes anything between 5 to 10 meteors per hours when it reaches the peak. Every year it happens between the 17th December and 25th December. This year it is expected to reach its peak on the 21st December night and 22nd December morning.

Equinox that happens during the month of September every year is referred to as Autumnal Equinox in the Northern Hemisphere and Vernal Equinox in the Southern Hemisphere. This happens exactly when the Sun shines on the Equator in a direct manner which usually causes equal time frame of day and night in all locations across the globe.
